The Gyru-Star Story
The Gyru-Star story began in 2008, when Colin Smith identified a clear gap in the market for an affordable onsite screening solution. Drawing on his extensive experience in the crushing and screening industry, he set out to develop a versatile, reliable attachment that would transform the way operators work. This led to the creation of the first Gyru-Star screening bucket, which would eventually become the 3-80E.
In 2010, the first bucket was sold, marking the start of an onsite screening revolution. With growing demand, the company moved into its first industrial unit in 2013, expanding production to keep up with orders from across the UK and beyond.
What started as a single idea to make onsite screening simpler and more affordable has grown into a market-leading brand, trusted by contractors and operators around the globe.

2008
Colin Smith establishes Wheatway Solutions, initially selling crushing and screening plant and designing and manufacturing spare parts for these machines.
2010
The first Gyru-Star screening bucket is sold to a groundworks contractor in Cornwall, Southwest England.
2012
As demand for Gyru-Star screening buckets increases, Colin’s daughter Rachael joins the company, assisting with production. Bucket serial number 00024 goes to MTT Sweden as a demo.
2013
Wheatway Solutions relocates to a dedicated manufacturing facility in Gloucester, which later becomes the company’s head office.
2015
With growing demand, Wheatway expands into a second industrial unit and secures its first OEM customer. That year, the 200th Gyru-Star screening bucket is sold.
2017
Colin and Rachael hire the company's first employee. They also invest in a plasma profiler, further expanding the company's manufacturing capabilities.
2018
Colin purchases the company's first CNC machine, bringing more work in-house. Nick Herbert joins Wheatway Solutions to manage production of the Gyru-Star range.
2025
The Gyru-Star 4-150L and 4-150SL are launched, becoming the largest loader and skid steer models in the Gyru-Star range. Partial production of the bucket shells is brought in-house.
